ABOUT ME

I started racing in 1994, after a passion for cars i quite liked the idea of racing something but wasn't sure what. Myself and a friend looked at building a rally car which started out buying a set of twin Dellorto carburetors and never went any further. After that i visited a local kart track where they were hosting a European Championship round, from this point i was completely hooked.

I had watched lots of racing from all types of motorsport and had always been really interested in rallying with Stig Blomqvist as my favourite driver (who i later got to meet whilst karting in the live action arena at the Autosport Show), but i had never seen anything with racing as close and intense as karting. That was it , i was hooked..

I bought a second hand kart and a new engine and began racing.. It took 12 months of non finishing or accidents before the penny dropped, i started to move up the order before taking my first win.

Competing at high level is expensive and i managed to get sponsorship from chassis manufacturers and while still racing i started a race team and became an instructor developing drivers at Brritish and European championships. Along the way i have seen the likes of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton progress from karting to F1 and Dan Camish,, Sam Tordoff, and Jack Goff to name a few make their way to the BTCC. Championship. I have worked with many now successful racing drivers and still continues to advise and develop drivers.

I have also been involved in chassis, brake and tyre testing as well as product development and technical support for a number of teams from single seaters, saloon cars and bikes as well as supporting drivers in Valencia in Formula BMW and working with some top names in motorsport.

It all started again after British Supermodified Rallycross Champion Tony Lynch asked me to help him round the Donnington race circuit in the Mini Cooper for Minichallenge Championship that he was looking at as a possibility after Rallycross.. That was it, i was hooked again and after a test in the popular Mini Cooper S Rallycross car its all started again. !
